Smoke Detection System

The FAA approved Alarm Display Panel is designed to seamlessly interface with smoke detectors and other discrete inputs. It offers an intuitive visual display and annunciation system, eliminating the need for multiple light bulbs and silk screens. This not only saves space and reduces costs but also minimizes confusion.

The centralized design allows all alarms to be displayed on a single, compact panel, while still being large enough to clearly identify each alarm through detailed messages. Additionally, the touch-screen interface enables users to easily navigate through different menus and display options.

The Alarm Display Panel, supporting up to fifteen smoke detectors, has been successfully installed and flown on Airbus A330 and A350 aircraft. The Smoke detection system including the Alarm Display Panel, smoke detectors with visual display LED and controls in the cockpit is approved by FAA with a STC and PMA.

The system includes an internal enunciator and two output signals designed to activate an external buzzer and an LED in the event of an alarm condition. These external devices can be installed in the cockpit for immediate alerting.

The unit also accepts a TEST signal (GND) from the cockpit or another source, enabling functionality checks of the smoke detectors and the unit itself. If a failure occurs in any of the smoke detectors, the system sends a signal that can trigger a “Fault” LED, which can be installed at any location in the aircraft, such as the cockpit. The specific fault location can be identified using the fault location menu.

The Alarm Display Panel can be mounted either in the cockpit or at a remote location. If installed remotely, a typical interface to the cockpit can be used as illustrated below.
